In Virginia

I've been in Virginia since yesterday. Im staying with my good friends Greg and Melissa from my Bible college days. I think I would still rate Greg as the best roommate Ive ever had hands down. I knew him before my Chattanooga days, but he has been down to Chattanooga a couple of times to meet my community down there. He even used one of his trips down to Chattanooga as the "make it happen with Melissa" trip. They both came down, had a great time, and were married within the year.

Some of my friends mostly remember Greg as the "Green" guy because he once wrote a whole song about the color green which included these lyrics:

And when the jello's lemon lime
It does it to me everytime
When the traffic light says I can go
When Kermit's singing on the muppet show
The garden hose, the dollar bill
The green, green Flintstones vitamin pill
Pickles, emeralds, broccoli, everything that I see is green!

He wrote the song because of a "pretty girl whose eyes were green."

But anyway, Greg is still staying pretty active with the music. He is giving a ton of private piano lessons and he is getting his own piano day camp business off the ground.

Its been good catching up with Greg and Melissa. Weve been hanging out since I drove in last night, and I visited their church, called Crosscurrent Ministries, this morning. But right now I am at the Fair Oaks Shopping Mall in Fairfax County, VA where I am about to set up for a college fair this evening. I'll be in this area one more day tomorrow and then I will leave for the Annapolis/Baltimore area on Tuesday. I was able to have a brief respite from my travels in Chattanooga on Friday night. I just hung out at my friend Kieth's house around a bonfire, went home to bed, and woke up in the morning to catch my flight. So yeah, Im just kind of flying around right now.

My rental car for this trip is a Pontiac. Ive never driven one before. Its kind of a wierd experience.

Greg, Melissa, and I went to a Chinese restaurant today and my fortune cookie said "You will be traveling and you will come upon a great fortune." Curious to see what comes of that one.
