Ive gotten some comments from some of my former students that have just made me feel so appreciated and encouraged. Teaching is such a crazy thing. It makes you feel like a complete failure. It is absolutely one of the most soul-crushing, expectation-destroying things I have ever done in my life. As a teacher, you spend the majority of your time feeling like a total moron. But at the end of the day, through the sheer grace of God, students look at you and say that you meant a lot to them and that they really miss you. It kind of gives me a glimpse of how its going to feel when I see Christ face to face and feel his approval and love, despite the fact that I dont deserve a single drop of it.
